- Abstract:
- To analyze size effect of small eccentric concrete columns under compressive loads, two groups of reinforced concrete columns, whose eccentricities were 0.1 and 0.25 times effective height of sections, were produced, and the specimen sizes were 200 mm×200 mm, 400 mm×400 mm, 800 mm×800 mm respectively. Damage mode, sectional strain distribution, bearing capacity and deformability of reinforced concrete columns were compared to reveal the size effect law. The results show that the size has less effect on damage mode and the sectional strain distribution of columns, and the size effect laws on bearing capacity and deformability of columns are obvious. The safety storage and deformability of columns decrease with the size increasing.
