- Abstract:
- In order to investigate mechanical properties of square steel tube filled with steel-reinforced high-strength concrete composite columns subjected to small eccentric compression, nonlinear finite element analysis of square steel tube filled with steel-reinforced high-strength concrete composite columns under small eccentric compression was conducted by the software ABAQUS. The effects of slenderness ratio, eccentricity, steel ratio and loading direction on the mechanical properties of composite column under small eccentric compression were analyzed. Simplified calculation formula was proposed, and simplified calculated results were compared with test results and FEM results. The results indicate that slenderness ratio and eccentricity ratio have significant impact on bearing capacity of composite column under small eccentric compression. Increasing of steel ratio can improve the ductility of the composite columns, and loading direction has small influence on bearing capacity. Calculation results of simplified formula are in well agreement with experimental results and FEM results.
