Abstract:
A new type of box strengthenjoint region connection of Isection column for weak axis was presented in the design of steel frame. In order to investigate the applicability of the connection in eight degree earthquake zone of sixlayer steel frame structure, combined with sixlayer engineering example and threelayer engineering model, mechanical properties and economical efficiency of box strengthenjoint region connection of Isection column for weak axis and the traditional boxshaped column connection with inner curtain were compared. Meanwhile, the connection bearing capacity under monotonic loading and cyclic loading was compared. The results show that the mechanical properties and economical efficiency of box strengthenjoint region connection of Isection column for weak axis is better than traditional boxshaped column connection with inner curtain when the steel frame is in the eightdegree earthquake zone and less than six layers, and the bearing capacity of box strengthenjoint region connection of Isection column for weak axis is also a little better than traditional boxshaped column connection with inner curtain under the monotonic loading and cyclic loading.
