- Abstract:
- The experiment of compressive strength and shear strength of the recycled concrete hollow block masonry was conducted to investigate the failure process and failure mode of the masonry. Based on the experiment results, the relations between the strength of recycled concrete hollow block masonry and the strength of block and mortar were analyzed. The standard value and design value of strength for recycled concrete hollow block masonry were calculated based on the experiment data. The results show that the mechanical properties of recycled concrete hollow block masonry are basically in accordance with those of the normal one, and the quality stability is satisfactory. The calculation formulae of compressive strength and shear strength of normal concrete hollow block masonry can be applied to the recycled concrete hollow block masonry.
