- Abstract:
- A new type of box strengthenjoint region connection of Isection column for weak axis was presented in the design of steel frame. In order to investigate the applicability of the connection in eight degree earthquake zone of sixlayer steel frame structure, combined with sixlayer engineering example and threelayer engineering model, mechanical properties and economical efficiency of box strengthenjoint region connection of Isection column for weak axis and the traditional boxshaped column connection with inner curtain were compared. Meanwhile, the connection bearing capacity under monotonic loading and cyclic loading was compared. The results show that the mechanical properties and economical efficiency of box strengthenjoint region connection of Isection column for weak axis is better than traditional boxshaped column connection with inner curtain when the steel frame is in the eightdegree earthquake zone and less than six layers, and the bearing capacity of box strengthenjoint region connection of Isection column for weak axis is also a little better than traditional boxshaped column connection with inner curtain under the monotonic loading and cyclic loading.
