- Abstract:
- Authors focused on the restraint effect of the superstructure of continuous girder bridge on the hitting pier based on the elastic analysis. The effect of transverse shear stiffness of bearings of continuous girder bridge, number of spans, span size, and lateral stiffness of the side pier was studied based on the propagating method along separate route, and the effect of each parameter was concluded. Based on this, the upper restraint stiffness of the hitting pier imposed by the Sutong bridges superstructure and substructure was analyzed using the finite element software, and was compared with the theoretical value. The study results show that when compared with the single model of the pier, the top of the hitting bridge pier displacement decreases 9.94% at the same impact force. When increasing the lateral stiffness of side spans, span size and transverse shear stiffness of the bearing, the top displacement of the hitting pier is decreased. With the decrease of the number of spans, the restraint effect of the hitting pier is smaller. The effect ratio of the first span on the the restraint of hitting pier is more than 90%.
