- In order to study the dynamic response, damage mechanism and failure mode of reinforced concrete (RC) frame, explicit dynamic analysis software ANSYS/LS-DYNA was used to build a model structure of six-story reinforced concrete frame, then the damage processes of corner column and side column of the reinforced concrete frame under vehicle impact with different speeds were simulated. The results show that the failure process of corner column is same with the failure process of side column under vehicle impact. The relationship of maximum impact force and impact velocity is linear. Equivalent value of the car collision force in Chinese specification is unsafe. Under vehicle impact,the bending shear failure occurs at the bottom of the column, and the shear failure occurs at the top of the column;the dynamic response of the structure has limitations, and it is only related with the collision column and the surrounding adjacent members.
