- Abstract:
- The buckling behavior analysis of steel plate shear wall (SPSW) stiffened by vertical closed channel stiffeners under the combination of non-uniform vertical compression stress and shear stress was carried out by using finite element software. The curves relating the critical buckling shear stress of SPSW stiffened by vertical closed channels to the stiffening coefficient of stiffeners and threshold stiffness were obtained. The formulas were proposed to calculate the threshold stiffness of the stiffeners under the combination of shear stress and non-uniform vertical compression stress. The results show that threshold stiffness decreases with the increase of the width-to-height of portion, non-uniform compressive stress coefficient, the number of stiffeners and the ratio of the torsional stiffness to the flexural stiffness of the stiffeners. The threshold stiffness of stiffeners decreases significantly with the increase of the ratio of the torsional stiffness to the flexural stiffness of stiffeners. The formula calculation results of threshold stiffness agree well with the finite element analysis results.
