Abstract:
In the construction projects in the areas of collapsible loess, in order to prevent the unstable foundation accidents, and ensure the safety and thrifty of the project design and implementation, the loess collapsibility evaluation is necessary based on the features of the loess and the requirements of the project. Some correlated coefficients, such as the collapsible coefficients and the initial collapse pressure of the soil samples were obtained through the double-method specimen compression test on Q3 loess of Xi'an and its collapsible characteristic was analyzed through the comparison of the collapsible coefficients, the initial collapse pressures as well as the peak value pressures of the loess in various depths, and the discussions of different depths, which provided significant basis for the soil treatment of the local collapsible loess.
