Abstract:
A new cracking model for finite element analysis of reinforced concrete structures was described. This model was set up based on mesh self-adaption and could simulate the crack development and continuation process for the failure analysis of reinforced concrete structures. Also, by using Monte Carlo methods with random variables related to crack development, it was found that the uncertainties of fracture position and distribution could be modeled. The post processings of finite element results were also improved. Finally, the computing result of a simply supported beams shows that the crack pattern and displacement of the beam are accordant with the experiment results. The result shows that the current method is rational and feasible.
