Abstract:
In order to study the shear capacity of brick masonry strengthened by fiber reinforced polymer(FRP), the seismic performance tests of one piece of normal masonry wall and eight pieces of brick masonry walls strengthened by FRP were carried out. Based on the bond and slip constitutive relation of FRP and brick interface, the influence of interfacial debonding of FRP was taken into account, and the interfacial adhesion to tension of truss bar model was transformed, meanwhile, the direct and indirect reinforcement effects of FRP were considered. Finally, the theoretical calculation model of shear capacity for brick masonry strengthened by FRP was established. Results show that it has an excellent coincidence with the experimental results which is derived from the test, and the shear capacity for brick masonry strengthened by FRP can be well calculated by using the model.
