Abstract:
Two methods which could consider tensile membrane action were offered to calculate the limit bearing capacity of reinforced concrete slabs in fire conditions. Based on yield hinge line theory, the bearing capacity of reinforced concrete slabs in fire conditions was calculated by using segment equilibrium method and energy-based method. The comparison of calculated results and test results was carried out. The results show that the methods can be applied to sqaure slabs and rectangular slabs with orthotropic and isotropic renforcement. The models can interpret why the difference between sqaure slabs and rectangular slabs exists under the same condition.
