Abstract:
Wind-induced vibration control of a high-rise building with protrusion was selected as an example. Fluctuating wind-speed time history of the structure was simulated by modified AR model. According to natural characteristics of the high-rise building, three kinds of vibration plans of making holes in curtain walls(plan A), adding viscous dampers(plan B), and making holes in curtain walls and adding viscous dampers(plan C)were presented. Structural dynamic analysis of the control plans was studied in wind-induced vibration occured once in 10 years and 50 years. The control effect of the three plans was analyzed in detail. Finally, suggestions of wind-induced vibration control for similar structural system were presented. The results show that the control plans B and C can dissipate energy induced by wind and can attenuate dynamic responses effectively. The maximum displacement and acceleration response of the top story can be reduced by 34.6% and 36.8% respectively. So, the presented plans are feasible and effective to control structural wind-induced vibration and improve structural safety and comfort.
