Abstract:
A detection for a concrete-filled steel tubular(CFST)arch bridge was carried out, including general appearance inspection and in-situ water quality investigation. Two criteria, Technical Code of Maintenance for City Bridge(CJJ 99—2003)and Code for Maintenance of Highway Bridges and Culverts(JTG H11—2004)were applied to appraise the technique condition of the bridge. The results show that the bridge is in grade D and the third level respectively, which means that the bridge needs a general repair. The two aforesaid codes have limitation in this process because there are no special items for CFST arch bridges in them. Although the assessment results by the two codes are similar, the condition index and the weight of superstructure, substructure and deck system by these two codes are different. The consistency of these two codes should be checked by more assessment of other bridges.
