Abstract:
In order to improve the seismic behavior of the masonry building in rural areas, authors discussed the seismic behavior of masonry buildings in rural areas in Lindian County by field investigation and finite element analysis, and several key problems related to the seismic behavior of masonry structure buildings were summarized. Results show that most of the masonry structures are constructed without seismic measures, which will be prone to local failure when they are subjected to earthquake ground motion. Several parts are weak to resist earthquakes such as the connection between the gale and the roof, the connection between the longitudinal and lateral walls, and the corners of the structure. Base on the observation and analytical results, several seismic measures to improve the seismic behavior of masonry buildings in rural areas are proposed, which can give reference for the seismic design of this kind of structure.
