Abstract:
Based on the crack area and the fracture parameters of the structure (stress intensity factor) to determine whether the crack was in unstable state or not, the finite element software ANSYS was applied to analyze the root crack problem for the arc-shaped and the angular notch with different dimensions, and to determine the variation characteristics of the stress intensity factor in crack tip. The analysis results show that for the same crack length, the stress intensity factor of the angular notch is greater than that of the arc-shaped;the stress concentration of the angular notch is more serious than that of the arc-shaped; the change speed of the stress intensity factor in arc-shaped notch tip is faster than that of the angular shaped. The stress intensity factors of these two forms of notches change obviously when the crack lengths change from 0 mm to 4 mm. The change magnitudes of the stress intensity factors of these two forms of notches will decrease when the crack length is larger than 4 mm, then the stress intensity factors eventually tend to be stable and coincide.
