Abstract:
In order to study the mechanical behavior of high strength bolts in T-stub connections of steel structure, experiment and finite element analysis of 10 specimens with difference configuration parameters were carried out, influences of configuration parameters of T-stub connections on mechanical behavior of high strength bolts were compared, and numerical simulation of force of high strength bolt was presented. The results show that the configuration parameters such as diameter of bolt, thickness of flange plate and pitch of bolts have different influences on the mechanical behavior of high strength bolts, constructional types of T-stub connections should be selected according to specific situations. Prying force and bending moment affect mechanical behavior of high strength bolts. Semi-empirical fitting formulas of tensile force and bending moment of high strength bolts achieved by experimental data agree well with the test results. The research conclusions can be used as reference for the engineering application.
